Fireworks explosions, safety and codes, and a case study


Christopher Wyman is a 32-year member of the New Hampshire Fire Service and is currently working as a Lieutenant in the Fire Marshal's Office of the Merrimack, NH Fire Department. For 20 years of his career, he was an Investigator for the NH State Fire Marshal's Office where he oversaw the permitting, licensing, storage and inspection of Display Fireworks, special effects, consumer fireworks, and blasting. He also conducted the investigations of any incident, injury, or death involving these items or events. 


Lieutenant Wyman currently serves as a Principal member to the NFPA Technical Committees on Pyrotechnics and Special Effects representing the National Association of State Fire Marshal's.


Lieutenant Wyman currently serves as the coordinator of the Northeast Regional Explosives and Fireworks Working Group which represents 8 states (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ), the FDNY Explosives Unit, NYPD Counterterrorism Unit, ATF - Industrial Operations for New England, Homeland Security, the New England Chapter of the International Society of Explosive Engineers, and the National Association of State Fire Marshal's.  


Lieutenant Wyman is a Certified Fire Investigator and Instructor by the IAAI and holds the Fire Marshal designation that is awarded by the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
